For a number of years now we have been planning on driving to Frankston over summer to see the sand sculptures. Well this year we finally made it. Was it worth it?
20 of the worlds best sculptors transformed 3,500 tonnes of sand into the theme “A Day At The Zoo”, including your favourite Zoo animals – Monkeys, Giraffes, Elephants, Lions and Gorillas. A special twist was looking for mythical creatures including Unicorns and Griffins.
The skill of the sculptors is there for all to see – what they can transform sand into is amazing. This is definitely worth taking your little ones along to – however be aware that tickets at the gate can only be purchased with cash. We made this mistake and had to take the short walk to the visitor information centre to purchase our tickets with card / EFTPOS. Family tickets are not cheap $42 for two adults and two children aged 3-12. Activities for children come at an additional cost.
The display is located at the Frankston Waterfront 510N Nepean Highway, Frankston, Victoria and runs until 25th April 2016.
